Frequently Asked Questions
How do you know someone’s color?
Have them take the profile! If they have not taken it, listen to the words they use and pay attention to the way they interact with you. Remember that behaviors can sometimes be deceiving because of cultural influences. Treat people as the color you think they are and if they do not respond positively, you’ve probably assessed them incorrectly.
Which colors are most compatible?
Every color is compatible with every other color. Each color combination and individual color comes with innate strengths and limitations. Any two colors can have a meaningful and healthy relationship, whether it is personal or professional. The Color Code becomes an invaluable tool in learning about ourselves, owning our strengths, overcoming our limitations and understanding and speaking the language of someone else’s personality.
Why are there only four colors?
Some People find it unsettling that there are only 4 color groups. The Color Code does not categorize people into 4 categories, only what motivates them. Personality is like the human face which has only a small number of variables (eyes, nose, chin, hair, etc.) yet has never produced exactly the same look. The same is true of personality. While core personalities are "limited" to only 4 colors, no two people are exactly the same.
Can you change your color?
NO, our core color is complete at conception. Regardless of our behavior at different times in our lives, our core motive came with us at birth and will never change.
What is motive?
Motives are our innermost reasons for doing what we do at our most raw basic level. They explain why we think and behave as we do. Motive is the driving force behind our personalities. Motives are to our personalities what engines are to automobiles.
How is this profile different from other profiles out there?
Other personality profiles are based on behaviors. They only offer a snapshot of how you currently behave and offer no insight into why you behave as you do. Categorizing personality by motive provides a much more complex and accurate picture of ourselves and those around us.
Why does knowing your core personality color matter?
It is critical to know your core color is critical for you to know so that you can align congruently with your natural preferences. It gives you the creative edge in life. If you don’t know your driving core motive, strengths and limitations – how can you expect others to relate effectively to you?
How can this test be used in hiring employees?
Any color personality can do any job. However, there are certain fields that enhance each color’s strengths. Reds excel in leadership positions, Blues do well with detail-oriented work, Whites shine in supporting roles and Yellows feel very comfortable in public relations.
How does color-coding influence parent-child relationships?
There is nothing more critical in a parent-child relationship than how effective the parent is at valuing the child. Certain personalities, by nature, may find other personalities difficult or easy to relate to. Yellows love to be adored, Blues seek a parent who is understanding, Reds need parents to respect them and Whites need a parent who is kind and accepting.
How does color-coding enhance my dating success?
A relationship will hold far fewer surprises if you know your partner’s color from the very beginning. Color-coding tells you what you will need to do in order to make a relationship work.
